SILENT SHAVA
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Silent has over 17 years’ experience in the insurance
industry with exposure to insurance and reinsurance
underwriting, claims management and reinsurance
accounting. He has worked for top tier reinsurance
and insurance companies where he gained experience
in handling specialist insurance classes like bonds and
guarantees. Silent holds a Bachelor of Commerce
Degree in Insurance and Risk Management from the
Midlands State University and is currently pursuing a
Master of Science Degree in Risk Management from
the National University of Science and Technology
DOUGLAS SITHOLE
OPERATIONS MANAGER
Douglas is a seasoned Insurance/reinsurance practitioner with over 15 years of
well-polished experience and expertise, specialising in underwriting, claims,
portfolio management, risk management and client services in Property &
Casualty reinsurance. He is well-versed in classes of insurance including
property, engineering, construction, liabilities, marine, motor and accident
classes. Previously, Douglas worked as a reinsurer and a broker, which enriched
his experience through in-depth understanding of insurance and client
services. He has experience in handling insurance business from various
markets including Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda
and Mauritius. Douglas holds a BCom – Risk Management & Insurance (National
University of Science & Technology), MSc Risk Management (National University
of Science & Technology) and an MBA from Midlands State University.
VALERIE MUGADZAWETA
HR & COMPLIANCE OFFICER
A young energetic professional who has diverse corporate experience having worked for a top insurance organisation in Zimbabwe for over 5 years. Valerie’s key expertise is in Treasury, procurement, systems implementation and regulatory compliance. She holds an Honours degree in Banking and Finance from the Midlands State University and an Executive MBA from Africa University.
SITHULISIWE MAKUMBE
ACCOUNTANT
Sithulisiwe has over five years of experience in the Insurance
industry. She also has vast experience in credit control. She holds a
Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Accountancy from Chinhoyi
University of Science and Technology and is currently studying
towards a Master’s Degree in Risk Management and Insurance with
National University of Science and Technology. She holds a
Certificate of Proficiency in Insurance and a Diploma in Insurance
from the Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe (IIZ).
HOWARD JACHI
UNDERWRITER TREATIES AND CLAIMS
Howard P. Jachi is a dynamic and results-oriented professional with a strong background in insurance and risk management.
Armed with a Bachelor of Commerce Honors Degree in Insurance and Risk Management from Midlands State University (MSU), He
has demonstrated his dedication to the field by continuously pursuing further education and qualifications. Certificate of Proficiency
(COP) in Short Term Insurance with the Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe (IIZ). Diploma in Insurance with the Insurance
Institute of Zimbabwe (IIZ) and currently pursuing qualifications with the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII)
Prior to joining Muca Re, he served as an Account Advisor at Minerva Reinsurance, where he honed his skills in client management, risk assessment, and portfolio analysis.
His pursuit of qualifications with the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) reflects his dedication to staying abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
ANDREW MASHAVA
FACULTATIVE UNDERWRITER
Andrew Munyaradzi Mashava is a seasoned insurance professional with over 8 years of experience in the industry.
Currently, he serves as a Facultative Underwriter at Muca Re, where he utilizes his expertise to assess and manage risks.
Prior to joining Muca Re, Andrew worked at Econet from 2018 to 2022, where he gained valuable experience in the insurance
sector. His career has been marked by a commitment to excellence and a passion for risk management. Andrew holds a
degree in Risk Management and Insurance, providing a solid foundation for his work in the industry. He has further enhanced
his skills with a Master's in Business Administration and IIZ associateship equipping him with a comprehensive understanding of business principles
